The early days of the company are associated with the restructuring of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. that primarily consisted of separating Maintenance and Repair departments from Huta Miedzi “Głogów”. At the beginning of 1997, three business entities were isolated and they took over the maintenance of the two Głogów mills as a result of the restructuring of KGHM branch in Głogów:
- Przedsiębiorstwo Remontowo-Budowlane “REMY” Sp. z o.o.,
- Mechaniczne Serwisy Remontowe “SUWIR” Sp. z o.o.,
- Przedsiębiorstwo Konstrukcyjno-Mechaniczne “HUTMECH” Sp. z o.o.
For the benefit of the companies, all facilities, machinery, equipment (and other means of production), plants, intangible and legal assets essential to company operation, and qualified staff with long standing experience were handed over. In the years following, these companies were subject to ownership and organizational changes. In the beginning of 2004, they were finally consolidated into one business entity ? REMY Sp. z o.o.
